Presently working with IBM Global Services as Technical Executive-ITS [S/390 Group] and assigned to Customer [Largest installation of IBM S/390 Series Mainframe systems in the country], since March 1997.

Projects

NATIONAL SECURITIES DEPOSITORY LIMITED This is part of one of the biggest System Integration project executed in the India & this is the first Depositoy in Asia.It includes installation of Hardware, software, networking solution at Production site, Mumbai & Disaster Recovery site,Pune.

RESERVE BANK OF INDIA This project is automation of clearing the cheques brought in by all banks in a city and do the net settlement at the end of the day. Cheques from different banks are presented with all the ncessary data encoded on the cheque. The MICR data on the cheques is read and sorted by the reader sorters (3890) controlled by CPCS (Cheque Processing Control System), a product on S/390 by IBM. The processed data is used for net settlement and generating reports for internal and external use. It includes installation, customization, testing of S/390 hardware documetnt processors & other hardware componetnt like storage devices ESS & RVA, tape drives 3490 & 3590, establishment controller 3174, IBM routers 2216 & 2210 & IBM pc’s

IBM S/390 Parallel Enterprise Server 9672-R56 & T26 [Generation 5], 9672-R22, 9672-RA2, IBM Enterprise Storage Server 2105-E20, IBM RAMAC 2 Array DASD[ 3990-006 + 9391/9392-B23], IBM RAMAC 2 Array Subsystem [9394/9395-B23], IBM Nways Multiaccess Connector[2216-400], Establishment Controller[3174-11L], Interconnect Controller[3172-003], Tape Drive Subsystem [3590-E11 & 3490E-C22/F11], Sysplex Timer [9037-002] and CNT-Channel Extender.

Responsibilities      Included

Leading the S/390 Support team at National Securities Depository Limited. Manages the S/390 Parallel Enterprise server hardware configuration for high availability and configuring hardware environment using HCD. Installation, configuration and customization of IBM 2216, 3172 and 3174. Monitoring system performance, Extended Remote Copy-XRC and the required environmental conditions for the Systems. Active member of the team to setup the first Online Disaster Recovery in India using DFSMS/MVS V1 XRC-Extended Remote Copy. Currently implementing Parallel Sysplex between Production and Development system. Handling scheduled and unscheduled System and facility outages. Change over from Production system to Backup in case of Hardware failure. Coordinating with System Support Group & Operations Engineers for maintenance & upkeep of the system.
