Eligibility: 2 year Pre Univ. or 12 year Higher Secondary or an equivalent exam with Eng., Phy., Chem., and Maths securing 50% marks (pass marks for SC/ST in PCM. Candidates must have passed the qualifying exam in one attempt. Medical fitness is also required.

Age: 16-21 yrs. (16-23 yrs for SC/ST candidates) on October 1 of the year of admission.

Selection is made on the basis of the Admission Test conducted by the Directorate of Technical Education, Govt. of Assam. As far as Tripura candidates are concerned their selection is made on merit obtained in JEE which is conducted by Tripura Board of Joint Entrance Examination. It may be noted that candidates from Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland and Sikkim are selected as per their marks in the qualifying exam.

How to Apply: Candidates those candidates from Assam who have passed the qualifying exam from the Institutions located in Assam have to apply separately to the Director of Tech Education, Govt. of Assam. They can have the prescribed form from the Chairman, Admission Committee, REC, Silchar on payment of requisite charges.

Hostels facilities are available for boys & girls separately.
