About
The
Indian Institute of Management, Lucknow is one of the six national level
institutes of management set up by the Government of India. The
Institute's mission is to help improve the management of corporate and
non-corporate sectors and public systems, through pursuit of excellence
in management education, research consultancy and training. The
institute conducts a 2 year Post Graduate Programme course. Regular
Management Development Programmes for working managers are held on
campus.

Post
Graduate Programme
The Post Graduate Programme (PGP) in management is designed to
develop professional managers who can shoulder varied responsibilities
in organisations in different sectors of our economy. The objectives of
the programme are to enable its graduates to :
1. Understand the socio-economic, political, technological and
ecological environment of modern societies and their characteristic
values;
2. Acquire the prevailing state-of-art knowledge and skills in the basic
disciplines and functional areas of management;
3. Develop analytical and innovative attitudes and skills so as to
facilitate change and increase the effectiveness and efficiency of
organisational systems;
4. Develop values and proactive attitudes for societal well being.
It is a two year, full time, residential programme. The students
completing the programme requirements are awarded the Post Graduate
Diploma in Management. The Diploma has been recognised by the
Association of Indian Universities as equivalent to a Master's degree in
Business Management from an Indian university.

The objective of the programme is to improve the decision making
skills and administrative competence of practising managers and develop
awareness of management practices most suited to the Indian context.
