Eligibility: The candidate should have passed the Higher Secondary (standard XII) Examination of the M. S. Board of Secondary Education, Pune or its equivalent exam with not less than 50% marks (for SC/ST 45%) at one and the same sitting in the subjects of Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics taken together and pass in English. They should have passed the qualifying exam from an institution in Maharashtra. There is no restriction with regards to age for admission.

Reservation of seats: For Maharashtra State SC 15%, ST 7%, 5 seats for children of Defence Personnel killed or permanently disabled, 5 seats for physically handicapped, and 1 seat for children of Indian nationals residing abroad. For rest of the country there is a reservation of 15% for SC and 7 ½% for ST. Seats are also reserved for GOI nominees and some other categories.

Selection is made on the basis of marks obtained in PCM at the qualifying exam and for B.Arch marks obtained in PCM at the qualifying exam and performance at the Aptitude Test. The aptitude test consists of the following:

1. Performance in free hand drawing
2. Test of visualisation
3. Test for observation
4. Performance in Memory drawing
5. Performance in colour Sensitivity
6. Viva voce

Application form and prospectus for admission against seats allotted to Maharashtra in other Regional Engineering College can be had from the Principal, VRCE, Nagpur on payment of requisite charges.
