More and more opportunities are now available for studying abroad as never before. With liberalisation, globalisation and entry of multinationals in the country, attraction for higher education has been gaining momentum and job prospects are becoming brighter. Many foreign universities and institutions are keen to attract students to their campuses.

Going abroad for study continues to be a cherished dream with a large number of aspiring Indian youth. Their great enthusiasm is evident from the number of visitors one finds at foreign university fairs held in our metros. The number of foreign universities sending their representatives to India to hold seminars for admission purposes is growing every year. The most sought after places where Indian students prefer to go are USA, UK, Australia and Canada. In 1999, there were about 5000 Indians studying in Britain and 30,000 in USA.

The first thing that comes to mind of those planning to go abroad for study is how to go about it. How and where to get the information about such studies?

In this section we have made efforts to include as much useful information as could possibly be gathered from various sources, keeping of course in mind the need for authenticity.
